After trying to come up with a layout for my camera store, I started to lose interest in the paparazzi idea. I kept getting frustrated trying to incorporate this idea without making it overly cheesy. One night while I was in my own little world, thinking about how to wrap everything together, I took a trip to Wendy's because thinking makes me hungry. I cant say that Ive ever gotten inspiration from a fast food joint before...The menu board was completely digital! It had moving parts and attention-getting graphics..and it used no paper whatsoever.
What better way to promote digital cameras than to create an all digital space?? So heres what Im thinking:
-almost every surface would be a digital screen, controlled by a central computer system.
-all labels would be digital-no paper involved
-all images/labels can be changed when products change
-this would also work with the changing of seasons
-there will be a camera demo space, which has been the plan all along.
-placed across from a wall with moving parts, small details, vibrant color..and any other situations that I can come up with (still working on this part)
-these scenes will be changed to correspond with the season changes
-i will design a lens display, from which the lenses can also be tried out along with the cameras
-I will also design a shelving unit for smaller digital cameras and accessories, that corresponds with the digital wall/labeling system
-the back of the store will house digital photo frames in a unique way to pull the consumer in
-the pay counter will not be something that is placed into the space, but a part of the space instead
-this will house smaller accessories (like batteries and memory cards)
Ive decided to call my store Sight Waves..a play off of light waves, and how they appear. See images below
